St. Peter’s is an Anglican congregation of Christ-followers seeking to reach one another, Tallahassee, and the world with the transforming love of Jesus Christ. Canon for Discipleship

  • The Canon for Discipleship is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and evaluating the cathedral’s program of forming disciples who are continually growing in the love and service of God and the Church.

  • Adult Discipleship Programs

    • Works with the Adult Discipleship Committee to plan, coordinate, and evaluate all discipleship forming opportunities for adults including Adult Sunday School, the Wednesday evening program, and special opportunities.

    • Oversees the Adult Catechumenate/Confirmation Process and its three basic components: Prayer Book 101, The Anglican Catechism, Spiritual Gifts Discovery Workshop

    • Works with the Director of New Member Ministry to coordinate the new member process and the Adult Catechumenate.

    • Coordinates the work of the Small Group Leadership Team overseeing and expanding the cathedral’s small group ministry.

       

    Clergy/Liturgical Responsibilities

    • Participates in the Sunday preaching rotation and is involved in the liturgical life of the cathedral.

    • Participates in the cathedral’s ministry of pastoral care, including hospital visitation, shut-in visitation, marriage preparation, Sacrament of Reconciliation, and making references to Stephen Ministry.

    • Serves as a resource for CSI’s Charles Simeon Fellowship Program and is a faculty member of the Lay School of Theology.

  • Required:

    • Ordained Priest in good standing in the ACNA and willing to transfer to the Gulf Atlantic Diocese

    • Strong organization skills

    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing

    • Master of Divinity Degree

    • Strong Theological Grounding

    • Able to think strategically and guide decision making processes

    • Excellent teaching and preaching skills

    • Effective pastoral care skills

     Preferred:

    • PhD in Theology or similar field of study

    • Experience creating curriculum for classes

    • Experience creating coordinated plans for educational programs

  • • Salary: $70k-$75k per annum based on relevant skills and experience

Pastoral Curate

 
  • The Pastoral Curacy was created in 2015 for the purpose of giving a recently ordained priest (or postulant) an opportunity to transition from seminary to parish ministry with the goal of being spiritually formed and practically prepared for Anglican ministry in the ACNA. Over the course of two years, the curate works closely with a priest/supervisor at St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral. The curate is involved in every aspect of parish ministry and also participates in a formation program.

  • Assists with Pastoral Care

    • Works alongside the canon for pastoral care and pastoral care team

    • Completes pastoral care training and development Covers pastoral care emergency line

    • Makes pastoral visits to parishioners at home, in the hospital, or in healthcare facilities

    • Makes check-in calls to parishioners in need of pastoral care

    Leads Prayer Team Ministry

    • Provides administration, organization and leadership to St. Peter’s prayer teams and inner healing teams

    • Receives necessary training in inner healing ministry

    • Ministers to prayer team members

    Participates in the Charles Simeon Institute Formation Program

    • Leads a class on Wednesday nights one semester a year

    • Participates in liturgy, preaching and teaching as assigned

    • Participates in other training, programs and events to grow in skills necessary for healthy ordained ministry, including: Anglican worship, liturgy, missions and evangelism, leadership, adult formation, youth and children’s ministry, parish life, administration, etc.

    • Provides regular updates to CSI’s board of advisors and contributes to CSI newsletter

  • Required:

    • Must be a postulant in the discernment process in resident diocese with a tentative ordination date to the diaconate

    • Seminary graduate with a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree

    • Passionate about pastoral care

    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team

    • Strong communication skills both spoken and in writing

    Preferred:

    • Experience working in pastoral care, chaplaincy, or other caregiving capacity

    • Ordained transitional Deacon or Priest

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace software

Director of Communications

  • This is a highly responsible position that oversees the internal and external communications of the church. Primary areas of responsibility include promotion of events within the church through internal communications channels including written, video, and through web presence. The director works closely with other departments within the church to promote their events, making sure that parishioners have all the key information necessary to preach the gospel and accomplish the mission of the church.

  • Graphics, Logos, Publications

    • Produce digital and print graphics for promotional or educational usage 

    • Manage Electronic Road Sign

    • Produce logos for specific ministry area or events when deemed necessary

    • Produce weekly print publication, The Keys

    Marketing

    • Develop and oversee implementation of all branding changes as directed by Dean

    • Organize and implement public messaging strategy

    • Contact media personnel for media events and promotion

    Printing, Photography, Social Media

    • Ensure coverage of various Cathedral events and ministry happenings

    • Manage all social media channels except YouTube channel

    • Produce documents that communicate deeper and more specific information about an event, ministry area, or the Cathedral

    • Print various publications for distribution including bulletins, posters, envelopes, cards, booklets, etc.

    • Utilize Jotform or other services to create online forms for registrations, questionnaires, or contact forms as well as collect and report data

    • Coordinate times and locations to film with A/V team for specific projects

    • Design/Maintain the St. Peter’s website

  • Required:

    • Demonstrated proficiency in website development (specifically using Squarespace), experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom

    • Strong initiative and attention to detail

    • Ability to work cooperatively with multiple staff members

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects

     

     

    Preferred:

    • A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, multimedia, visual communications, marketing, or related field; or 4 or more years of experience working in communications or a related field.

    • Experience supervising other employees
