Services
Christmas Eve Service Information
Join us for one of four Christmas Eve services at 12:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 11:00 pm. Childcare and a children’s sermon are available only at the 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm services. Above, each service event is listed with key differences.
What to Expect
Experience the beauty of Christmas in a grand cathedral setting. Each service includes a sermon, classic hymns, Bible readings, and the celebration of Holy Communion. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion, and anyone may come forward for a blessing or prayer.
Practical Tips for Attending
Parking
Plan to arrive early. Although St. Peter’s has its own parking, Christmas Eve services draw a large attendance, and extra time will help you park and find your seat comfortably.
Service Choice
Choose the service time that best fits your needs. The noon and 5:00 pm services are especially suited for families with young children, offering both childcare and a children’s sermon. The later services at 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm tend to be more contemplative, often featuring incense and candle lighting in the style of a traditional midnight vigil. Each event listing will note specific details for that service.
Dress
Wear whatever is comfortable for you. Most parishioners dress in smart-casual or semi-formal attire for the Christmas Eve services. Still, all are warmly welcomed regardless of dress.
