New Art for Mothers Day

Claire Osborn Womack is a Tallahassee-based artist and mom of two who is visually impaired. After losing a significant amount of her eyesight due to a genetic disease, Claire developed a deeper understanding of her purpose as an artist: to worship her Creator by creating, regardless of her limitations. While her vision has steadily declined, her confidence in the One who knit her together in her mother’s womb has only increased. Because He knew when He made her that He was creating both a visual artist and an individual who would experience blindness, she practices using failing eyes to see as an exercise in trusting Him. Through her regular practice, Claire’s focus has shifted from the problem of vision loss to the joy of knowing Christ. Her hope is that her work would remind those who view it that all of life is a call to worship.

We are happy to have her collection of drawings entitled, “May You Sing Hallelujah", downstairs on our Gallery Wall. They are inspired by a song she wrote for her children.
