Youth Ministry

SCROLL DOWN

Youth Ministry

Dear Parish family,

It’s been one full semester since I was invited on the St. Peter’s Staff and all I have to say is, “Wow!” There’s so much to love about our parish. I found that many here are quick to serve and abound in generosity, many are quick to open their homes, and, closest to my heart, there is deep concern, passion, and love for the youth of our church.

As far as our progress, we are right on track! Fr. Chase, Lucy, and I have been working hard on our Youth Ministry reboot, and we’re already seeing the fruit: students are being nurtured, challenged, and loved. We’re also developing a healthy and passionate volunteer team. As you read through our plans for the spring and summer I hope you get as excited as I am. There’s a lot to look forward to and the future is bright!

St. Peter’s, thank you for allowing me to be a part of and serve the students in our church family.

Tim Smith, Director of Youth Ministry

Upcoming events

Sundays

Youth Acolyte Ministry | 9:00 & 11:15am

Acolyting is one of the best ways for Middle and High School students to serve the church! For more information, including how to get started as an acolyte or youth lector, contact Jamey McClenny at jameymcclenny@aol.com.

Sunday school | 10:25-11:00am

6th and 7th graders will continue going through The Story: Teen Edition, which summarizes the big story of the Bible.

10th-12th graders will meet to discuss the tough issues and questions of our faith.

confirmation class | 10:25-11:00am

Confirmation continues this Spring for both the one-year and two-year tracks. We will continue our exploration of the core beliefs of our faith through exploring the Catechism of the Anglican Church in North America.

Real Life | 6:00-8:00pm

Bring your friends to church for games, pizza, and small group discussion on relevant topics. This Spring we’ll be watching a series called For the Life of the World, which asks the questions: “What is our salvation for?” and “How does it affect every part of our existence?” We’ll be separating Middle and High school in the spring. While they’ll run simultaneously, each will have its own space.

Wednesdays

Youth ensemble | 5:15-6:00pm

The Youth Ensemble is a choir for 6th through 12th graders. We will learn to use our voices to praise God with excellence and will have opportunities to lead the congregation in worship. We will also learn to use our talents missionally, going out into the community to spread the joy of music. For more information or to join the Youth Ensemble, contact Lucy Church at lucy@StPetersFL.com

Forward: bible study | 6:15-7:30pm

High Schoolers: Tim has got a Bible study planned just for you! You don’t have to know anything about the Bible - just come as you are. This is a time for High Schoolers to ask real questions and delve deeper into the Word of God together.
