In the 21st century, social media and information technologies have reshaped the way we work, play, and relate to one another. Unfortunately, the pace of change is disorienting, and the effects have often been spiritually, mentally, and socially toxic. Digital overuse generates addiction, distorts identity, corrupts relationships, and polarizes society. In this class, we will draw lessons from Scripture and Christian tradition that help us chart a redemptive course to digital sanity, examining how we might glorify God through a healthy, balanced, and compassionate approach to technology.
