Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. —Hebrews 4:14, 16
Ascension Day marks the moment when Jesus Christ returned to heaven, completing his earthly ministry and taking his place at the right hand of the Father. While it may seem like a moment of absence, it is actually a celebration of Christ’s reign and ongoing presence in a new way. This feast reminds us that Jesus is no longer physically with his disciples, yet he remains actively at work.
