Christian Art: A Visual Exploration

Explore the history and meaning of visual Christian art, from its biblical roots to its historical development. This course is structured as a week-by-week exploration of diverse visual mediums, such as architecture, paintings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, and liturgical objects. Participants will develop the skills necessary to understand the biblical narratives, theological themes, and artistic elements present in these artworks, learning to appreciate sacred art as a visual representation of the Bible and the Church’s worship.
