Adult Sunday School will continue its journey through the Bible by completing I Samuel and beginning 2 Samuel.  These two pivotal books recount Israel’s transition from a tribal confederacy to a monarchy, the troubled reign of its first king, Saul, and the rise of David as Israel’s archetypal king.  2 Samuel chronicles the reign of David and culminates with the rebellion of his son Absolom.  These two books deal with important theological themes such as the proper ordering of God’s people, the covenant, how God works in history and through people, the vocation of the covenant people, and the working of God among sinful people.
