Led by Budd Kneip
The challenge of heresy has been part of the fabric of Christian theological controversy since at least the second century. Remnants of past heresies continue to haunt modern Christianity. This class will explore the idea of heresy and will look at some of the classic heresies within the historical Church and their impact. Part of the problem of heresy is that it has generated a fundamental suspicion of orthodox Christian faith as well as a lack of knowledge about it. This class will make use of Alister McGrath’s book Heresy.
