Grounded in the Gospel explores the official catechism of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), To Be A Christian. The class offers a detailed exploration of all three sections of this catechism which cover The Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer and the Ten Commandments. As the ACNA understands it, these three things form the foundation of Christian discipleship. This class is open to anyone but required for membership at St. Peter’s. This class has been recently re-designed and now focuses completely on Anglican worship. The class begins with an exploration of worship in the Old and New Testaments and then explores the development of worship in the early Church. Other topics include the theology of the sacraments and the liturgy as a school of prayer (particularly the Daily Office). This class is based on the ACNA’s new Prayer Book which will be issued in 2019. This class is open to anyone but required for membership at St. Peter’s.
