Led by Fr. Michael Petty

There is an ancient tradition in the Church which speaks of the “fourfold Gospel,” the one Gospel presented in the four Gospels. This class will explore how each of the Gospels portrays Jesus and attempts to answer important questions: How did Jesus understand his own mission? What was Jesus’ relationship to Israel? What did Jesus teach and why was it controversial? How did Jesus understand his miracles? How did Jesus understand his death? What did Jesus expect his disciples to accomplish? By looking at crucial segments of all four Gospels, we will see how the four portraits of Jesus really do become four ways of looking at the same subject. Registration for this class is required.
