The Book of Exodus is one of the most important books in the Bible. It not only tells the story of the central even of the Old Testament, Israel’s liberation from slavery in Egypt, but also provides us with important insights into God’s design for his covenant people in terms of their life and worship. Beyond this, the New Testament consistently interprets the event of Jesus’ death and resurrection in the light of the Exodus. Thus, Exodus helps us to understand both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Over the course of this class, we will be looking to see how God provides indications what he will do in the future to save his people and how these indications are gathered together and fulfilled in Christ.
